State-of-the-Art Dock

All-time NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace obviously knows a boatload about racing. He also knows who to call when he needs a world-class dock for his new Lake Norman home – Mark Lancaster. Years ago, Rusty, hearing of Mark’s reputation for superior quality and customer satisfaction, decided to give him a try. Four docks later, he “wouldn't consider using anybody else. It wasn’t an easy project because of existing elevation problems, but Mark brought in barges, cranes and scuba divers, cut pylons, retied walkways...now it’s perfect!”

Mark, affable owner of Lancaster Custom Dock and Lift System since 1986, has turned his business into a huge success story. He strolls down Rusty’s dock pointing out features like the VEKAdeck™ PVC deck board and beaming with pride. “Check out these salt-grade, 316-grade stainless steel cables and stainless steel rails. Most folks use picket-fence on the sides, but Rusty wanted to see the lake through it, so we came up with this idea. Very clean.” And it was that. Also minimal, modern, and yes, hip.

Mark’s dock designs feature an innovative fixed dock system as well as a conventional floating dock system, both of which furnish customers with longer lasting dock structures. The Lancaster fixed dock is designed to withstand rough water caused by weather and boat wakes, a serious problem for many areas of Lake Norman.

Working with customers from initial design, engineered drawings, permits and final inspection, they’re so confident in the quality of their docks they offer a ten year warranty on fixed docks and a five years warranty on floating docks, far above standard.
